Stalin starts textbooks distribution, launches new progs of Kalvi TV

Chennai/UNI: The online classes for the academic year 2021-22 commenced on Saturday with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin allowing the free books distribution scheme for government school students and videos of the new syllabus to be telecasted through the Kalvi TV channel.

The free textbook scheme, launched for Rs 292 crore, will benefit 69 lakh students across the State, officials claimed.

At an event held at the Anna Centenary Library in the city, Stalin also interacted with the students present and gave them pens and chocolates.

It may be noted that schools were closed since last year, since then classes were being held online.
