New Delhi/IBNS: Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is planning to launch more Android-specific features to make the app useful and feature-rich for its users.

According to a recent WABetaInfo report, a handy new feature coming to WhatsApp users as the app's developers are working on a "Favorite" tab for contacts that will allow users to add, remove and rearrange contacts on the list for easier and faster access.

"WhatsApp is currently exploring a feature to allow users to add, reorder, and remove their favourite contacts and groups right within the app settings, set for release in a future update of the app," as per the report.

WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp, through this feature, aims to simplify the process of locating and managing favourite contacts and groups within the calls tab, while the enhancement will be particularly beneficial as managing these favourites may currently be complicated for some users.

The new feature will be especially useful because favourite contacts and groups are set to play a central role through some future features, according to WABetaInfo.

WABetaInfo said in its report that a feature to manage favourites is under development and it will be available in a future update of WhatsApp.
