G20 Summit in Delhi: All Updates

The national capital Delhi is all set to host the world leaders, who will be here to attend the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will individually welcome all global leaders at the newly-inaugurated Bharat Mandapam in Delhi's Pragati Maidan. Modi will host a lunch for all global leaders on Saturday followed by a dinner which will be hosted by President Droupadi Murmu.

PM Modi-Sheikh Hasina meeting in New Delhi today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina at the G20 Summit in New Delhi on Friday.

Prior to the meeting, three MoUs will be signed on cooperation in the agricultural research sector, cultural exchange and facilitation of transactions between citizens of the two countries.

US President Joe Biden on Friday said he is heading to India to participate in the G20 Summit where he will be focussed on making progress on 'Americans' priorities'.

He wrote on X: "I’m headed to the G20 – the premier forum for international economic cooperation – focused on making progress on Americans' priorities, delivering for developing nations, and showing our commitment to the G20 as a forum that can deliver."

"Every time we engage, we get better," he said.

 

Spanish President Pedro Sanchez tests COVID-19 positive, to skip G20 Summit in New Delhi

Spanish President Pedro Sanchez will skip the G20 Meeting in New Delhi after he announced he has tested COVID-19 positive.

Writing on X on Thursday, he announced: "This afternoon I tested positive for COVID and will not be able to travel to New Delhi to attend the G-20 Summit."
