New Delhi, Dec 3 (IBNS): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said the move of banning old Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 currency notes by the Centre last month may led to a reduction of almost 50 per cent in tax collections.

"Tax collection can be 50% low this month as there is no business in Delhi markets. If so, it would b hard to pay salaries of govt employees," Sisodia tweeted.

The Centre on Nov 8 announced the move to ban Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
