A local court of Assam summons Kejriwal on Modi defamation case

| | Dec 27, 2016, at 09:19 pm
Guwahati, Dec 27 (IBNS): A local court of Assam asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to appear before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Karbi Anglong's Diphu on January 30 next for his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualification.

The court summoned the Delhi Chief Minister after a BJP leader of Assam had filed a criminal defamation case against Kejriwal for his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualification.

According to reports, Surjya Rongphar, a BJP leader of Karbi Anglong, had filed a criminal defamation case against the AAP leader on December 26.

"Kejriwal on December 15 tweets that PM Modi has passed only 12th standard, and thereafter degrees are fake. Kejriwal's remarks on the Prime Minister is totally baseless and misleading. So I had filed a criminal defamation case against the Delhi Chief Minister for his baseless remarks on PM," Surjya Rongpar said.

The BJP leader further said that the CJM had summoned Kejriwal to appear before the Diphu court on January 30 next.
