AAP claims its Gujarat office raided, slams BJP

Gandhinagar/New Delhi/IBNS: In what would lead to a fresh tussle with the country's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Monday claimed its office in poll-bound Gujarat was raided by police, media reports said.

The AAP has claimed the raids were done at the behest of the BJP, which is facing stiff contest from the regional party.

A tweet in the AAP's micro-blogging site reads, "BJP is so badly scared of the rising popularity of Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat that now it is misusing its power to get our office raided.

"After Delhi, now they have started getting raids done in Gujarat too. Delhi or Gujarat, they will not get anything wrong."

Reacting to the raids, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, tweeted, "The BJP has been badly shaken by the immense support it is getting from the people of Gujarat. A storm is blowing in Gujarat in favor of 'AAP'

"After Delhi, now started raiding in Gujarat too. Nothing was found in Delhi, nothing was found in Gujarat too. We are staunch honest and patriotic people."

Earlier, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the liquor policy in the national capital.

After assuming power in Punjab, the AAP is aggressively campaigning in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's backyard Gujarat, throwing a challenge to the mighty BJP.

Gujarat will go to polls later this year.
