AAP completes three years in office in Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 14 (IBNS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday completed its third year in the office of Delhi government.
The AAP had returned to power in Delhi in 2015 with a sweeping majority, bagging 67 out of 70 Assembly seats.
With the rise of Kejriwal, the BJP and the Congress were reduced to mere 3 and 0 seats respectively.
However the journey for the AAP was not at all smooth in the last three years.
Kejriwal had to face tough challenges from Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre and had a dismal show in several by-elections.
The party, which had ousted the Sheila Dikshit government as a face of anti-corruption in 2013, lost 20 of their MLAs over the allegations to holding office of profits.
Though the party will not fall into crisis immediately, the opposition parties have raised their voices against Kejriwal asking the latter to resign.
The AAP had also faced mutiny in last one year.
On the eve of the third anniversary, the party has shared a video on its Twitter handle to showcase the development works undertaken by the AAP government in Delhi.
The emergence of AAP took place in the 2013 Delhi Assembly election where it had emerged as the second largest party.
With the conditional support from the Congress, the AAP had formed a minority government which only lasted for 49 days.
