AAP to go national giving signs of rapprochement within party
New Delhi, Mar 18 (IBNS): The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to to go national and contest elections in other states, which is now being seen as a sign of rapprochement within the Arvind Kejriwal led party.
The party's expansion was strongly advocated by founder member Yogendra Yadav and was seen as one of the major issues of discord between him and Kejriwal.
AAP's Sanjay Singh, who is also a member of the PAC tweeted, "AAP will expand across the nation, colleagues will get responsibilities in states, volunteers will have a role in decision-making."
The decision was reportedly taken at the PAC meeting at Kejriwal's home on Tuesday night.
Sanjay Singh even informed that the talks with Yogendra Yadav went well.
Yadav welcomed the PAC's decision to go national and involve the volunteers' say in decision-making.
"Welcome PAC's statement to expand the organisation nationally & to consider contesting elections outside Delhi. Step in the right direction," Yadav tweeted on Wednesday.
"PAC's decision to involve volunteers in party's decision-making recognizes Swaraj within the party. Looking forward to detailed blueprint," he tweeted.
This are seen as signs of reconciliation within the party after the national executive of the same on Mar 4 decided to remove its founding members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the party's PAC.
