AC stays trial in Kathua case until May 7

New Delhi, Apr 27 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Friday has stayed the trial in the Kathua rape and murder case, according to media reports.

Father of the victim has appealed for the trial to be shifted to Chandigarh while the accused has asked for CBI probe and trial in Kathua, reports said.

A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices D Y Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra said it will deal with the prayer of the victim's father for shifting of trial to Chandigarh and plea of the accused seeking handing over the probe to CBI, reported NDTV.

The next hearing will be on May 7.
