New Delhi/IBNS: Attending a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several political forces over the Delhi violence, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said parties had agreed to bring back peace with a joint effort in the national capital.

"All the political parties have agreed to bring back peace in the national capital together. The Home Minister has assured that there will be plenty of policemen," Kejriwal told media.

The death toll in a violent clash over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protests in North-East Delhi touched seven, which includes a policeman and six civilians, while more than 20 civilians and 10 cops are still undergoing treatment in Delhi hospitals, officials said on Tuesday.

According to reports, Shahdara DCP Amit Sharma, who was seriously injured during the clash between pro and anti CAA protesters in Gokulpuri area on Monday, underwent a surgery and he is out of danger.

Meanwhile, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials said that all entry and exit gates of Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar stations of Delhi Metro's Pink Line will remain closed and trains will be terminated at Welcome metro station.

Officials of Delhi's fire and emergency services said that more than 45 fire incidents were reported since Monday evening from the vulnerable areas of North-East Delhi.

Till the latest update came in, Delhi Police along with CRPF and RAF companies are currently carrying out route-march in violence-hit areas as situation still remains tense.

Prior to his meeting with Shah, Kejriwal held a press conference and said, "All the MLAs have complained to me that the number of policemen was less. Also they said the policemen didn't have the power from the top level to take any action against any wrong activity."

"Will raise the issue in the meeting with the Home Minister," the Delhi Chief Minister said.

The clash took place just hours before US President Donald Trump along with his entire family reached the national capital on Monday.

On Monday night, the protestors allegedly set a tyre market ablaze near Gokalpuri metro station in North East Delhi.

As many as 10 fire tenders doused the blaze.  No casualty was reported.
