Amit Shah arrives in Bhopal for a day visit to Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal/UNI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in the Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal on Friday for a day's visit.
The special plane conveying Shah touched down at about 10:30 am.
The dignitary was received and welcomed at the State Hangar by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia, BJP state President Vishnu Datt Sharma and several state ministers.
Shah shall address the inaugural session of the 48th All India Police Science Congress in the Kanhasaiya-based Central Academy for Police Training.
He will plant saplings and pay floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial located on the Academy premises besides inaugurating an exhibition showcasing ultramodern equipment.
A lunch banquet shall be hosted at Chouhan's residence.
Next on the agenda is Shah's speech during a Forest Committees' convention at Jamboree Ground at 2:30 pm.
The top minister in the Modi government will distribute Rs 67 crore as bonus to tendu leaf collectors in addition to Rs 55 cr as wood and bamboo dividends by symbolically disbursing amounts to some beneficiaries.
Shah shall participate in a road show and spend in excess of an hour at the BJP office prior to departing for New Delhi at 6:45 pm.
