Army conducts flag march in Golaghat

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Army carried out a flag march in Assam’s Golaghat district, the border region that continued to be tense following an ugly turf battle, on Thursday morning.

Violence-hit Golaghat remained totally shut on Thursday - two days after the protests by Assamese agitators who had staged blockades on the highway leading to Nagaland.

Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju will visit the troubled Assam-Nagaland border belts to take stock of the situation. The junior home minister is slated to meet chief ministers of both the states in Guwahati as well.
