Guwahati, Feb 27 (IBNS):  In its efforts towards upliftment of the underprivileged, the Red Horns Division of the Indian Army, under its SADHBHAVNA initiative, constructed and dedicated a shelter to girls orphanage in New Hathipota village near Bilasipara in Assam’s Dhubri district.

The project had been conceived considering the lack of infrastructure and poor living conditions of the girls in the orphanage.

Defence PRO Harsh Wardhan Pande said that, in a colourful ceremony on Tuesday, the community hall was inaugurated by Sarfaraz Haque, SDO Bilasipara in the presence of  locals and officials of civil administration and Army.

Addressing the locals, SDO Bilasipara acknowledged the efforts of Army in ensuring peace as well as contributing towards the development of society.

He further urged the girls and the orphanage staff to utilise and maintain the infrastructure created for them.

The locals and orphanage staff thanked the Army and civil administration for the assistance which will provide the girls a decent and comfortable habitat.
