Around dozen shops gutted in fire en route Vaishno Devi track

Jammu/UNI: Nearly one dozen shops were gutted in a mysterious fire that broke out en route Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan in Katra town of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Police here said that fire broke out in shops near Charanpaduka along the track en route Bhawan.

Joint teams of police, Shrine Board, fire and emergency services, on receiving information, immediately rushed to the spot and started the fire extinguishing operation.

"The teams acted swiftly and the flames were doused," police said adding that initially it seems to be short circuit but exact cause of fire is being ascertained.
