As Fadnavis rejects Sena's 50:50 deal, Uddhav Thackeray speaks to Sharad Pawar over phone

Mumbai/IBNS: After Shiv Sena said it had numbers to claim the Chief Minister's post, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had a discussion with NCP chief Sharad power on Friday evening, media reports said.

National Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar will fly to Delhi to speak to interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi, an NDTV report said

After BJP rejected Sena's 50:50 proposal for Chiefministership, Sena made it clear it would not settle for anything less.

With today's phone call speculations are high that Uddhav Thackeray sent indications to NCP and Congress that it was not averse to getting into an alliance with them.

"If the Shiv Sena decides, it will get the required numbers to form a  stable government in the state. People have given the mandate to form the government on the basis of the 50-50 formula that was reached in front of people of Maharashtra. They want a chief minister from the Shiv Sena," Sanjay Raut was quoted as saying to media today in the morning.

"There is no ultimatum to the BJP. They are big people," the Rajya Sabha MP quipped.

"Sahib, don't feed your arrogance...many Alexanders have drowned in the ocean of time...." he said in a tweet without naming the BJP.

Shiv Sena and BJP contested Maharashtra Assembly election based on a pre-poll alliance. Bjp won 105 seats and Shiv Sena finished with 56 seats, while Sharad Pawar's NCP was a close third with 54 seats.

Pawar has expressed his support to Thackeray's 50:50 deal.

"In the 1990s also, there was a 50-50 formula for the Shiv Sena and the BJP. So they have past experience (in running the government). So
the Sena can insist, nothing wrong in that," he had told NDTV in an  interview.
