Assam : BSF nab 7 cattle smugglers and 25 cattle along Indo-Bangladesh border

Guwahati, Aug 23 (IBNS): Within 48 hours, the BSF troops deployed in Assam’s South Salmara district, along the Indo-Bangladesh border, have apprehended seven cattle smugglers and seized 25 cattle heads.

On Friday morning, the BSF personnel apprehended five cattle smugglers and seized 17 cattle heads from Shishumara area along the Indo-Bangladesh border while they were trying to smuggle the cattle to Bangladesh.

A top official of BSF said that based on specific input, the BSF personnel conducted an operation at Shishumara and Boreralga area and apprehended five cattle smugglers.

The BSF personnel also seized 17 cattle in possession from them.

The nabbed cattle smugglers were identified as Ataur Rahman, Lal Chand Ali Seikh, Doyal Hussain, Rosid Seikh, Mostafizur Rahman.

The apprehended cattle smugglers and seized cattle were handed over to Kharwabanda police for legal action.

On Aug 22, the BSF personnel had apprehended two cattle smugglers and seized eight cattle from the Indo-Bangladesh border area.
