Assam: Candlelight protests held against terrorism, CM announces Rs 20 lakh for martyr’s kin

The cultural activists of Assam including singer Zubeen Garg on Friday staged candlelight protest against terrorism in Guwahati.

They paid their tributes to the martyred jawans.

Zubeen Garg said that, our beloved jawans are the real warriors.

“When we lose them for no cause, it’s a big thing for us. Today, we all are mourning, we are together. We will always fight against terrorism. We are all together against terrorism,” Garg said.

Candlelight protests were also staged in different parts of the state against the Pulwama terror attack incident.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakhs to the family of martyr Maneswar Basumatary, who was killed in the insurgent attack in Kashmir Valley on Thursday.
