Kohima/IBNS: Zunheboto Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a two-week bamboo craft workshop for physically disabled and financially challenged people from January 11 to 23 in Nagaland's Zunheboto.

The workshop was organised with a vision of mastering skills of bamboo craft to explore alternative sources of livelihood and promoting the natural flair for bamboo craft in the local population.

This endeavour would promote both local handicraft culture as well as generation of employment.

The populace expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for providing this excellent opportunity to be self reliant for physically challenged people.

A total of 52 persons including 12 ladies were given training on carving, weaving, painting and furniture making etc.
