Assembly polls: Congress leading in Rajasthan, tight fight in MP, Chhattisgarh
Bhopal/Jaipur, Dec 11 (IBNS): As per early trends, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are currently engaged in a neck-to-neck battle in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as counting of votes for assembly polls held in five Indian states progressed on Tuesday.
In the 199-member Rajasthan Assembly, Congress is slightly ahead as it is leading in 48 seats while the ruling BJP is leading in 35.
In the politically crucial Madhya Pradesh, the Congress and BJP are engaged in a neck-to-neck battle. The Congress is ahead in 30 seats while are BJP is leading in 32 at 9 am.
In Chhattisgarh, the BJP is leading in 22 seats while the Congress is ahead in 18.
Mayawati's BSP is leading in three seats.
The TRS is leading in 56 seats in the 119-member Telangana assembly.
The Congress is ahead in 17 while the BJP is leading in three.
In 40-member Mizoram assembly, the Mizo National Front is ahead in four seats while the Congress is ahead in two.
