Bangladesh: Assailants attack, critically injure Hindu priest in Satkhira temple

Satkhira, Jul 2 (IBNS): A day after a Hindu priest was hacked to death by bike borne assailants, another was attacked on Saturday morning and sustained wounds and is admitted in a local hospital in a critical condition, reports said.

Bhabashindhu Bar, the victim who served at a temple in Satkhira, a southern district, was attacked inside the temple.

Satkhira police OC Emdadul Haque Sheikh was quoted by bdnews.com as saying, "He was attacked around 4am on Saturday.”

Sheikh said that the attackers left after the assaulting thinking the victim was dead.

"The attackers left thinking Bhabashindu was dead. Locals, alerted by the two guards, rushed him to the hospital in critical condition," Sheikh added.
