Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina arrives in Delhi for funeral of President's wife

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IBNS) Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Delhi on Wednesday morning to attend the funeral of Suvra Mukherjee, wife of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

Vikas Swarup, the official spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs, said: "A leader comes to pay respects. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj receives PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina at the airport."

Condoling the death of India's first lady, the Bangladesh Prime Minister had earlier expressed his profound grief.

Suvra Mukherjee died in an army hospital in Delhi on Tuesday after protracted illness.
