Bastar collector warned for wearing sun glasses while receiving Modi
"The state government has warned the Collector for not following the protocol and not showing "integrity and devotion" towards duty. "The act ( wearing sunglasses) is in violation of the Section 3 (1) of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968," a government notice reads.
Modi recently visited the Maoist-hit Bastar region and announced a string of development projects.
According to local media reports, Modi shook hand with the Collector who was wearing a blue shirt and branded sunglasses and asked, "Mr dabangg Collector, how are you?"
Reports said Modi's remark has triggered a debate on the dress code of IAS officers on VVIP duty.
Chief Minister Raman Singh has said that no action will be taken against the collection. "Only a notice has been issued to the officer as it is not a protocol. It was done only to tell him that it was against the protocol. No further action will be initiated," he is quoted as saying.
