Purulia/West Bengal/IBNS: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has sought a report from its local machinery after Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s Purulia candidate, Sujoy Banerjee, was seen in a video threatening a BJP leader to shoot outside a polling station in Purulia district of West Bengal on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

According to reports, TMC candidate Sujoy Banerjee along with his followers engaged in an altercation with BJP workers outside a polling booth over an allegation of tampered EVM machines.

During the argument, Sujoy Banerjee suddenly lost his temper and allegedly threatened BJP leader Dipak Bauri to shoot.

After monitoring the footage of the incident on TV news channels, the ECI sought a report.
