Bihar: Elaborate security arrangement for 7th phase Lok Sabha election
Patna, May 18 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the 7th and last phase of Lok Sabha elections to eight seats in Bihar.
Sources at the state police headquarters said here today that constituencies of Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat and Jehanabad would go to the poll in the last phase of election.
Sources said polling would be held at all polling booths in Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Ara, Buxar and Jehanbad from 7 AM to 6 PM but votes would be cast under Masaurhi and Paliganj assembly segments in Patliputra constituency, under Bhabhua, Chainpur, Chenari and Sasaram assembly segments in Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency and under Dehri, Karakat, Goh and Navinagar assembly segments in Karakat constituency from 7 AM to 4 PM due to security reason.
Voters could exercise their franchise under other assembly segments in Patliputra, Sasaram and Karakat Lok Sabha constituencies from 7 AM to 6 PM.
Votes would be cast for by election to Dehri assembly seat simultaneously with Lok Sabha poll.
Patrolling had been intensified in the area of Buxar Lok Sabha constituency bordering Uttar Pradesh and also in the area of Nalanda constituency close to Jharkhand. Vehicles entering or coming from these two states are being thoroughly checked, sources added.
