New Delhi/IBNS: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced a fresh list of candidates for 148 more seats which will go to polls in the month of April.

BJP leader Mukul Roy, who was once a Trinamool Congress number two man, has been fielded from Krishnanagar Uttar.

Roy, a former Railway Minister, had unsuccessfully contested as a Trinamool candidate from Jagatdal constituency in 2001.

Among the celebrities, Parno Mitra has been fielded from Baranagar constituency, Srabanti Chatterjee from Behala Paschim and Koushik Roy from Moynaguri.

Actor Rudranil Ghosh will fight from Bhabanipore, which is presently the constituency of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

As Mamata will fight from only Nandigram this time, the Trinamool has fielded its veteran leader Sovandeb Chattopadhyay from the south Kolkata seat.

BJP women's wing president in West Bengal, Agnimitra Paul, who is also a fashion designer, will fight the polls from Asansol Dakshin.

Though the saffron party has fielded late Congress leader Somen Mitra's wife Sikha Mitra from Kolkata's Chowringhee seat, the latter refused to contest.

"I am not contesting any election. I haven't even joined the BJP, forget about contesting elections. This is a lie," said Sikha Mitra in a video message.
