BJP has problem with 'parivars' that are opposed to it: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar: Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the BJP has a problem with only those ‘parivars’ (families) that are opposed to it.
“I have said this earlier, BJP has no problem with 'parivarvaad' [family-led parties]. They have problems only with those parties who oppose them,” Omar said while responding to the recent remarks made by top BJP leaders accusing several parties including Congress of promoting 'parivarvaad'.
Omar referred to the recent alliance between Chirag Paswan's LJP and BJP in Bihar.
“Isn’t this alliance in Bihar a 'parivarvaad'? Recently Amit Shah sahib met Raj Thackeray. Isn’t that 'parivarvaad'. A minister (referring to Jyotiraditya Scindia) is becoming a candidate from Gwalior Guna. Isn’t that 'parivarvaad'?
"BJP has no problem with ‘parivarvaad’. They have only a problem with those 'parivars' that are opposed to it. And I am proud to say that I oppose BJP and I have no hesitation in saying this,” the National Conference vice president said.
Omar said that the party would announce candidates for the three seats at an appropriate time.
“Our three seats [in Jammu Kashmir] fall in 3rd, 4th and 5th phase. We have a lot of time. let's celebrate Eid first then we will look into it," Omar said.
