BJP launches month-long campaign in order to spread awareness about Article 370

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) BJP on Monday announced that the party will carry out a wide public relations and awareness campaign from September 1-30 in the context of abrogation of Section 370, and the national spirit will be conveyed to the policy makers and great people of the country.

Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarters, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said a huge campaign will be carried out for a month by the saffron party to convey the spirit of the nation.

BJP President Amit Shah and working President J P Nadda have decided that the whole country should participate and help in this direction.
''Leaders of all generations of BJP have believed that Article 370 is not good for the country's integrity. It is against the unity of the country. A historic decision was taken in early August to nullify it, '' Petroleum Minister Mr Pradhan said.

He said the Tricolor was hoisted on the Kashmir secretariat as was seen through social media, adding that ''There are very few moments in the history of the country after Independence when the country has united, leaving all discrimination, one such moment is now in front of us.''
Mr Pradhan said almost all central schemes are being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and the whole country unitedly stands with the government on the issue.

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh said this historic decision to abrogate Article 370 was taken in last Parliament session.

''For the past three generations, there was a pain which the people of the country felt that when will the dream of one Nation-one Constitution be fulfilled. That dream is fulfilled through the strong will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,'' he said.

The party leadership has decided that a huge public awareness programme in the context of Article 370 will be carried out in 35 places and 370 tier 1 and tier 2 cities where party leaders will address the people.

Union ministers, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, MPs and all senior state leaders will address people and explain about Article 370, adding that a committee has been made in this connection, the BJP leaders said.
