Mandi/IBNS: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi has sparked a new row by asking her visitors to carry an Aadhaar card if they seek to meet her.

Ranaut, the first-time MP, has asked visitors to write down their work related to the constituency in a letter.

The actress-turned-politician said, "We all know that Himachal attracts a lot of tourists. So one needs to carry an Aadhaar card from the Mandi area to meet me.

"Moreover, people's works related to Mandi should be written in a letter so that no one faces any inconvenience."

Slamming the move, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh said, "Tourists, who come to our territory, will definitely reach the local administration and public representatives if they find themselves in any trouble.

"So we as public representatives have to keep our doors open to them as well besides the local people."

In a dig at his Lok Sabha poll opponent Kangana Ranaut, Singh said people won't be required to carry an Aadhaar card to meet him.
