Lucknow/IBNS: Ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, BJP has planned an outreach programme in the state with the newly included Union Cabinet ministers from the state, according to media reports.

The seven Cabinet members - six from BJP and Anupriya Patel of ally Apna Dal - have received instructions from BJP national president JP Nadda and will conduct a Jan Ashirwad yatra covering three-four parliamentary constituencies and four-five districts, said an NDTV report.

According to the report the ministers would visit the assembly constituencies to seek the "blessing of the people".

The yatras will take place after August 15 and must be done in complete adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

The party will also celebrate Anna Mahotsav on August 5 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address 80,000 ration vendors through a video link, the report added.

During the outreach programme, the ministers have been asked to present the side of the government on farmers' protests and the Pegasus phone-hacking scandal to counter the accusations by the opposition on these issues, the report said.

They have also been asked to visit Covid-9 vaccination centres and encourage people to take the second dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait announced on July 26 that all roads leading to UP will be sealed in a bid to intensify their agitation against the three new farm laws ahead of the assembly elections in the state.
