BJP releases sting video accusing Uttarakhand CM of corruption charges
New Delhi, July 22 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched counter attack on the Congress party and released a sting tape to 'expose' corruption charges against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat in liquour scam and loot during the 2013 floods.
BJP's Nirmala Sitharaman has demanded the immediate resignation of Rawat.
According to the BJP, the sting shows Rawat's personal secretary negotiating bribes for changes to the state's policy on the sale of alcohol.
However, Rawat told NDTV that the authenticity of the sting operation has to be checked.
This comes amid strong protests by the Opposition over controversies involving BJP leaders as the Monsoon Session of Parliament failed to move with business for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
Uproar and acrimony continued to rule the roost in Parliament as earlier in the day both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced two back-to-back adjournments with an unrelenting Congress-led opposition demanding immediate action in the Lalit Modi row and Vyapam scam.
