BJP's L Ganeshan files nomination for lone RS seat from Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi, Sep 30 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP’s) L Ganeshan filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha bypoll from Madhya Pradesh on Friday. according to media reports.

The seat fell vacant when former Union Minister Najma Heptullah resigned from it in Aug after she was appointed as Governor of Manipur.

Heptullah's term was to end on April 2, 2018, which necessitated the bypoll .

Ganesan's name was announced by BJP national president Amit Shah, media reported.

L Ganeshan is former State president of Tamil Nadu and national executive member.
