BSF-Police seized drugs worth Rs 45 crore in Assam's Karimganj
Karimganj: The Border Security Force (BSF) and police seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 45 crore in Assam's Karimganj district on Tuesday.
On specific input, 7 Bn BSF of Mizoram & Cachar Frontier and Karimganj police on Tuesday carried out an joint operation and intercepted a truck on National Highway 37 near New Karimganj railway station in Karimganj district.
During seach, the security personnel seized 9.477 kg of heroin packed in 764 soap cases from the truck on National Highway 37 near New Karimganj railway station.
A senior police official said that, the market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 45 crore.
Security personnel also apprehended one drug peddler.
