BSF seizes drugs, arms from Indo-Pak border
Jalandhar/UNI: Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday foiled a fresh attempt of smuggling from Pakistan side to push contraband and arms and ammunition into the Indian Territory.
The BSF seized 1.900 kg heroin, 800 gm opium besides arms and ammunition.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier's BSF Head Quarter here on Friday Said that the alert BSF troops in the area of responsibility of 116 Bn in Amritsar sector observed suspicious movement of some mischeivous persons and challenged them following which they fled towards the Pakistani Territory.
During search of the area conducted today, the troops seized two plastic bottles filled with contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 1.900 kg. The troops also recovered 800 gm opium, one pistol of 9mm calibre, one magazine and five live cartridges.
Value of the heroin seized is said to be Rs. 9.50 crore in the international market.
