BSSC exam paper leak: Secretary, five others taken into custody

Patna, Feb 8 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): A special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged question paper leak of clerical examinations conducted by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has taken into custody the commission secretary along with five others.

The BSSC secretary Parmeshwar Ram was taken into custody after some incriminating documents concerning the paper leaks were recovered during extensive raids conducted at his Bhagwat Nagar-based residence in Patna on Tuesday.

During the raids which lasted for over five hours the SIT team seized admit cards of BSSC exams, attendance registers at the exam centres and some land papers, informed sources said.

“We can’t reveal much at this stage but can say we will very soon crack down on the gangs involved in the racket,” Patna’s senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj told the media today.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said those involved in the alleged appointment racket will not be spared and will be ruthlessly dealt with.

The massive raids follow barely a day after the Chief Minister ordered an inquiry into the alleged question paper leak, and asked chief secretary and the DGP to probe the matter.
