Budget session: Congress member creates ruckus during President's address

New Delhi/UNI: Congress Member Ravneet Singh Bittu on Friday created a ruckus during President Ram Nath Kovind's address to the joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament on the opening day of the Budget session and demanded the withdrawal of all three farm laws.

A large number of seats remained vacant in the Central Hall, as major Opposition parties, including the Congress, boycotted the President's Address.

Bittu, sitting on a seat at the back of the Central Hall, kept listening to the address for a long time but as soon as the issue of farmers came up and  Kovind started counting the achievements of the government on agriculture, he rose from his seat and started shouting 'Jai Jawan' 'Jai Kisan'.

While raising the slogan of 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan', the Congress Member told  Kovind that the condition of farmers was very bad.

"All three agricultural laws are anti-farmer and should be withdrawn," he said.

The President's address continued, despite Bittu's obstruction.

Meanwhile, many security personnel came close to Bittu but the Congress member himself went out of the House, shouting slogans.

Slogan shouting continued outside the Central Hall, but the security personnel closed the gate, due to which the President's Address was not interrupted.
