New Delhi/UNI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday initiated a door-to-door campaign and distributed pamphlets seeking support on the CAA in Lajpat Nagar area here.

The BJP chief led the campaign as a part of Jan Jagran Abhiyan to create awareness on CAA. He visited residences and met people and children and requested them not to fall prey to misinformation spread by vested interests on the issue. He also urged them to extend their support to the government on the Act.

Mr Shah distributed papers detailing the achievements -- CAA, Article 370 and others -- of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government.

He was accompanied by Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, senior party leader Vijay Goel and others.

Earlier in the day, Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh participated in the Abhiyan to raise awareness about the CAA in his parliamentary constituency Lucknow.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also took part in a similar door-to-door campaign to support the Act in Jaipur.
