CAA violence:  BJP targets Congress

| @indiablooms | Dec 15, 2019, at 06:54 pm

New Delhi/UNI: Amid violent protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in some parts of the country, the BJP on Saturday launched a scathing attack against the opposition parties over the Act and alleged that the latter are trying to create violence and divide the country.

Talking to mediapersons at party headquarters, BJP spokesperson Sampit Patra along with senior leader Dushyant Gautam also said that the party decided to send its workers to educate people on CAA.

"BJP workers will go to people and giving the facts on CAA. Today we had met our workers, social media and media team from 11 states - Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, chandigarh, Delhi, Ladak, Haryana, Rajastan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir- and apprised the details of the CAA. They will talk to people and make understand that it is not against any community," said Patra.

Slamming Congress, the BJP leader said that while the BJP is meeting with the people with facts, the opposition parties, especially the Congress is trying to create violence across the country.

"We have to compare between the responsive act and position of the BJP and the irresponsible role of the opposition, particularly the Congress party playing today in the country," he said.

He also alleged that whatever the steps this government has taken, either Ram Mandir or Article 370 or Tripile Talaq and now CAA, the Congress is trying to make issues between Hindu and Muslims, out of frustration.

Referring to the Congress's overseas unit's protest outside Indian Embassies in foreign countries, Patra asked, "has Pakistan outsourced its works to Congress party? " and added that "earlier on different issues, Pakistan tried to create problems in front of Indian Embassies and now these kind of works are doing by the Congress. They should feel ashamed."

He also said that the Home Minister Amit Shah has categorically said and two days the Parliament had debated on the bill, which is now an act, is neither unconstitutional nor communal.

Pointing out to Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Savarkar, Patra referred former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's statement on Savarkar that 'he is son of soil' and 'son of India', and said, "I want to ask Rahul Gandhi that who is big? You or your grand mother? A commommorative stamp has also released to honour Savarkar. Is Rahul Gandhi trying to undo what Indira Gandhi has done?."

He also said that Rahul Gandhi should do away with the title Gandhi and added "because a person consistently speaks against India and a person who has not understanding the ethos of India, how dare he usurp the name of the father of the nation? Rahul Gandhi is a political absconder only," he charged.
Criticising further, Patra said that, "as far as the opposition parties, particularly the Congress party and the TMC are concerned, they in fact have an agenda. The only agenda is to how to burn India, how to divide India, they will go to any extend to make Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister, do these parties are not believing in democracy?".
