CBI to widen probe on corporate espionage

New Delhi, Mar 21(IBNS) the Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to examine the officials of the corporate affairs department in connection with the alleged theft and sale of confidential documents to corporate groups.

The CBI investigation has pointed to the involvement of a section of officials of the Corporate Affairs Ministry in sending documents to Chartered Accountant Khemchand Gandhi, who used to information to corporates houses for money.


Earlier, the agency had said that  "first and second level of decision making in the Finance Ministry were compromised", but it now seems to be heading to widen the area of its probe covering more people for questioning.

. It is alleged that the government servants were passing on documents related to foreign investment policies to big corporate groups.
