CBSE bars nun in Kerala to take AIPM with veil and cross on
The measure against him was taken as part of the strict dress code the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that bans all religious items for the exam.
Media reports quoted the nun as claiming that she was at the exam centre by 8 am and was ready for a body check but the authorities at the school said that she cannot write the exam with her veil and her cross on.
The court in its order issued on June 15 had cancelled the AIPMT examination held on May 3 following the leak of the question paper and circulation of the answer keys through electronic devices across 10 states in the country.
After Supreme Court ordered CBSE to conduct the re-examination in view of large-scale cheating, the board had issued a dress code relating to examinations. It had asked all candidates and their parents to ensure strict compliance for the exam.
The candidates have been asked to wear light clothes with half sleeves shirt/T-shirt/kurta. They are also barred from putting on big buttons, brooch or any badge on their clothes. The candidates are allowed to give examination only in open slippers.
