Chandrababu Naidu attacks PM Modi over not fulfilling his promise of transforming Andhra Pradesh capital

| @indiablooms | Jul 21, 2018, at 04:25 pm

New Delhi, July 21 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister  N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not fulfilled his pre-poll promise of transforming the state capital to such 'greatness' as it will make Delhi look small before it.

Amaravati is the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

"The then prime ministerial candidate @narendramodi had promised the people of AP to build a great capital that will make Delhi look small. 4 yrs later, we are still waiting for him to fulfil this promise he made before Lord Balaji in Tirupati. #AgainBJPCheatedAP #APdemandsJustice," Naidu tweeted.

Speaking on the issue of granting special status to Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said:" 18 assurances given to AP in AP Reorganisation Act-2014 have been broken. PM is stating false issues to justify the injustice done to us. Truth is that neither the constitution nor Finance Commission have issues with granting Special Category Status to AP. #AgainBJPCheatedAP."

He thanked political parties that supported the No Confidence motion passed by his  Telugu Desam Party.

The Narendra Modi government on Friday defeated a No Confidence Motion brought by the TDP and Congress by a big margin, after a daylong debate.

Chandrababu Naidu's TDP had brought the no-confidence motion, demanding a special status for Andhra Pradesh. The motion was supported by the Congress, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Responding to the No Confidence Motion in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the opposition and said the nation today witnessed negativity expressed by some members of the House and said all that Congress wants is to remove Modi from power.
