Johannesburg: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently attending the 15th BRICS summit in South Africa’s Johannesburg, congratulated the nation on the successful soft landing of Vikram Lander in the moon's south pole, the member countries of the grouping also praised India’s moon mission Chandrayaan-3.

Just a few hours before the landing of Vikram Lander, India's moon exploration mission garnered big praise at the BRICS Summit.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated India on Chandrayaan-3. “I would like to congratulate India, particularly as you speak about the need for cooperation in Space, in a few hours India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 will be landing on the moon. We congratulate you. This for us, as the BRICS family, is a momentous occasion and we rejoice with you,” he said.

Chandrayaan-3's Vikram Lander has etched its mark in the hearts of 1.4 billion Indians on the lunar surface's dark side.

India has achieved the remarkable feat of being the world's first country to successfully land on the Moon's South Pole.
