Chhattisgarh: 2 ITBP personnel die during encounter against Maoists

Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh/UNI: Two personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police died during an approximately hour-long encounter against Maoists in Kariyameta area on Friday.

“The rebels looted an Avtomat Kalashnikova-47 assault rifle, a couple of bulletproof jackets and a handheld transceiver,"  Inspector General (Bastar Range) P Sunder Raj told UNI.

"A joint team of law-enforcement personnel had set out for road-opening along the Narayanpur-Barsur route when the outlaws staged an ambush," he said.

" The ITBP’s Sudhakar Shinde and Gurmukh Singh were killed in action,” P Sunder Raj said.
