Chhattisgarh: 7 cops killed during gunfight with Naxals

Raipur, Apr 11 (IBNS): At least seven policemen were killed during an encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday, reports said.

Ten others were injured in the attack.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said he has spoken to state CM Raman Singh over the situation in Sukma.

"Spoke to Chhattisgarh CM @drramansingh over phone who apprised me of the situation in Sukma. Extra CRPF teams have been rushed to the spot," Singh tweeted.

"I salute the bravery of our security personnel who laid down their lives while fighting the Naxals.I wish for speedy recovery of the injured," he said.
