Civilian killed in fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan
The attack prompted the Border Security Force personnel to retaliate resulting in heavy exchange of firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Border Security Force (BSF) claims that the Pak attack came after they repulsed the attempt of two terrorists on Monday night to sneak into India from across the border.
Pakistani rangers started firing from small arms and mortars at posts in the Pargwal and Kanachak sectors at around 5 am. The mortar shells fell near civilian areas.
On Sunday night, Pakistani troops fired at posts in four different sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in heavy crossfire.
There have been 19 ceasefire violations along the India-Pakistan border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others were injured.
Altogether 200 incidents of ceasefire violation have taken place this year.
