Civilian killed in Kashmir firing by security forces

Srinagar, Apr 27 (IBNS) A civilian was killed while several others were injured when security forces opened fire on protesters in north Kashmir's Kupwara town, police said on Thursday.

According to reports, Mohammad Yousuf, a middle-aged man, was killed in the firing after “violent mob” attacked security vehicles in Panzgam village of Kupwara town.

Earlier in the day armed militants attacked an army camp in Panzgam of Kupwara town resulting resulting in the death of three army men, including a Captain.

While two militants died in the encounter following the attack, five soldiers were also wounded.

The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Captain Ayush Yadav, 46-year-old Junior Commissioned Officer Bhoop Singh Gujjar Dusaa,  and 38-year-old Naik Venkat Raman.
