Congress should take decision on continuation of alliance with JDS: HD Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru, July 24 (UNI) The Caretaker Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is non-committal on continuing the JD(S)-Congress alliance in the State and said that Congress should take a decision about it.

Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, ahead of attending the JD(S) party leaders meeting, he said that “I am not aware what is the stand of the Congress on the issue, we will chalk out future strategies in the Legislature party meeting”.


Refusing to speak on the alleged horse-trading acts of the BJP, he said that “I think it is a closed chapter”.


Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (Secular) National President and former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, came down heavily against the BJP and said that “The party (BJP) has stooped to low level to topple the JD(S)-Coalition government in Karnataka”.


“I have never seen the things which were happened in Karnataka to destabilise a democratically formed government” he added.

The rebel MLAs, who were lured by the BJP were kept in captive and did not allow them to meet the people, who were close to them, he charged.

“I have reservation, over peace and tranquillity in the country, in the hands of the BJP” he said.


Addressing at the party’s senior leaders meeting here on Wednesday, he called upon the party leaders to strive hard to build the party base and strengthen it in the coming days.
