Constitution is the ray of hope : PM Modi
"Our Constitution is a ray of hope: H for harmony, O for opportunity, P for people's participation and E for equality," Modi told reporters outside Parliament, which is holding a special two-day session to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of India's Constitution.
In a series of tweets on Thursday morning, Modi greeted India on Constitution Day and saluted Dr Ambedkar for his stellar contribution. The constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949 and came into force on January 26, 1950, which became the country's Republic Day.
PM Modi appealed to all political parties to meet in Parliament in the spirit of "vaad, vivaad and samvaad (dialogue, debate, and discussion)", calling the three actions the soul of Parliament. "I am confident that all the MPs will leave no stone unturned to match the expectations of people of nation," he said.
