Contraband drugs worth Rs 90 lakh seized in Manipur’s Tengnoupal

Guwahati, Oct 11 : Security forces seized huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 90 lakh in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

Based on a specific input, a combined team of Tengnoupal district police and the troops of Assam Rifles stopped a suspicious individual on Canda Motor Cycle, coming from Tengnoupal towards Pallel, at MVCP Tengnoupal.

On carrying a thorough check of the motorcycle and the individual, security personnel had recovered 150 packets (30,000 numbers of contraband WY tablets) in possession from him.

The individual was arrested and the suspected contraband WY tablets were seized.

The price of the seized contraband WY tablets is approximately Rs 90 lakh in the international market.

The arrested person was identified as Tongminlen Mate.

On questioning the arrested person revealed that the tablets were transported from Moreh to Pallel via Moreh-Multuk-Chamol-Tengnoupal route to skirt PVCP Khudengthabi.

The arrested person along with the seized item handed over to Tengnoupal police station for further necessary legal formalities.
