Cooch Behar: Mamata Banerjee slams BJP

| | Apr 25, 2017, at 11:51 pm
Cooch Behar, Apr 25 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday attacked the Centre and said her government will not follow 'divisive politics'.

"We respect and love all religions. We will not tolerate divisive politics," the Chief Minister said while addressing a public meeting here.

"We will not tolerate politics of riots by BJP," she said.

Further attacking the BJP, Banerjee said: "Hinduism is an ancient religion. Was the BJP around when Vedas were written? Ramakrishna, Vivekananda are our icons. We do not need lessons in Hinduism from BJP."

Banerjee also targeted the Centre over its decision to start UID for cows and called the move as 'ridiculous'.

“They have lost it. Are goats and fish next? They should give fodder to cows instead of Aadhaar card. This is ridiculous," the Chief Minister said.
