New Delhi/IBNS: Even though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to take a decision on the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in the wake of the deadly Novel Coronavirus outbreak, the Delhi government on Friday cleared that no match of the mega tournament will be held in the national capital.

The decision has been announced by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

According to media reports, the BCCI is planning to hold the IPL matches in empty stadiums.

Sisodia has also said no sporting event and conference will be held in Delhi as a preventive measure.

He has urged people to avoid gatherings.

The Delhi government has already declared Coronavirus as "epidemic" and ordered closure of all schools, colleges and cinema halls till Mar 31.

However, schools and colleges where examinations are underway will remain open.

Disinfecting all public places, government and private offices are made compulsory.

Following a review meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said, "The Delhi government is fully prepared to handle the situation.... I hope all people will cooperate with us in controlling the situation."

So far 74 confirmed Coronavirus cases have been reported in India.

Six positive cases have been reported in Delhi so far.

Three people from Kerala have, however, recovered.
